Katie Sivinski - About Me

I’m a children’s writer of picture books through young adult. I’m also passionate about reading, learning and teaching. Having started my career as a preschool and elementary school teacher, I’ve now shifted gears and get to teach kids about nature in my job as a Youth and Family Educator at a public park and botanic garden.

I love teaching kids and families about seeds and how they grow, butterflies and moths, other pollinators, and anything else related to nature. In my writing, I usually touch on some kind of nature. I write both fiction and non-fiction for preschoolers to teenagers.

In my free time, I volunteer as a Virginia Master Naturalist and am slowly converting my yard into a native plant and wildlife habitat. I live in Northern Virginia with my husband and three kids.
